SPEAKOUT on Wednesdays offers an instant crossfire by three young public
servants who may not always agree on the issues but who do display their long time
friendship in disagreeing.
Senator McClintock was actually born in London. His father is a Texas-born
architect and his mother, a Puerto Rican-born college professor.
His undergraduate studies were at the University of Puerto Rico and he earned his
Juris Doctoral degree at Tulane University in New Orleans in 1980.
He was appointed by President Nixon in 1971 as a delegate to the White House
Conference on Youth at the age of 14. His seventeen year-plus career as a legislative staffer began while a 19 year old sophomore at the UPR, when he became staff
director of the Consumer Affairs Committee of the House.
Kenneth was elected in 1992 as the youngest at-large Senator and then reelected in
1996, when he was the majority New Progressive Party's top vote-getter in the Senate that year.
Senator McClintock is the Senate Minority Leader. He is the author of close to 500 legislative bills, over 50 of which have become law.
The Senator has been co-hosting SPEAKOUT for almost two years and believes it is
an important part of his community outreach programs.
