Mariano
Calderón has had a love affair with radio since he was in high school.
He was born in Bayamón, Puerto Rico but left with his family for New York City where
he lived in Brooklyn until eleven years old when his family returned to the Island.
He attended Interamerican University in San Juan and the John Jay School of Criminal
Justice in New York before starting his radio career. Mariano joined WOSO one month
after it went on the air in 1977. He is the Director of Operations but like many at the
station he wears several exotic hats. He also covers traffic in the morning and news in
the afternoon and is the host of the music intensive "Night Sounds" from
12:00 M-3:00 AM on Fridays.
Outside of WOSO, his pride and joy is his family with whom he loves spending time at
home or at a great Puerto Rico beach..
